Laurie and Matt wanted to do their engagement session at some of their favorite local spots in Prospect Park & Park Slope Brooklyn. We spent some time at Prospect Park, then maneuvered our way over to one of Laurie's favorite bars. It's always so great to be able to go to more comfortable spots and capture people at places where they feel the most at home. I’m so thankful I am able to be their New york city wedding photographer and I will be photographing their wedding at the Green Building in Brooklyn in a couple of months! Here are some of my favorite shots from the session:
City College in New York City - Engagement Photography Session
Meet A&M. I was pretty excited to photograph their New York City engagement session- it was a cool location idea, City College on the upper west side of Manhattan. I personally have never been to the school before and never knew how beautiful the architecture there was! So I was very pleasantly surprised when I was scouting the area out and extremely excited to photograph them there! One part that I love about my job is that I'm given great chances to explore and see hidden gems! Anyways, with the help of some friends (architectural students at City College- Thank you Raymond & Jess!) I was able to even get access inside and get some great shots with some of the beautiful (yet probably constantly overlooked) interiors. I really love my job as a New York City Wedding Photographer — I get to see so many cool spaces!! Check out some of the photos! So excited about how they came out! :) I’m also super excited to shoot their New York City Elopement at New York City Hall soon!
Central Park and Metropolitan Museum of Art Engagement Photography Session
Sometimes photoshoots don't always go as planned. The date we chose was a LOT colder and windier than a normal April day, but it worked out so wonderful. We stayed on the upper east side of Manhattan and was able to get some beautiful shots behind the Metropolitan Museum of Art, at Central Park and on the street of New York City! Ketsia's dress worked so well with this windy day and was able to be such a inspiration for some of the shots!
Homy & Michael - Metropolitan Museum of Art and Upper West Side
Homy has been one of the most influential, encouraging sisters in my life. I was so thankful and excited to photograph her and her fiance Michaels' engagement shoot! Homy (yes, it's pronounced Homie, like, "yo-this is my homie!") is a wise, beautiful and loving woman who has a knack giving great advice. I am so glad that she has found someone to commit to for the rest of her life! I still remember the first time she told me about him... we were sitting in the backseat of someones car and I begged her to show me a facebook picture. That's how I first met Michael. This blond chap, that was holding a cup of coffee, wearing a book-bag. Their relationship built via long distance, Michael in Saratoga Springs, and Homy in New York City. Every time they visited each other, they spent their time exploring Manhattan and just being happy in each other's presence. The train station became a staple in their relationship. (Note the last photo in my set, Pennsylvania Station ^_^) I am so happy that these two really love each other and decided to really commit themselves to each other. When planning our engagement shoot, we decided to mirror Homy and Michael's 2nd date. They went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and then to Shake Shake, and Lady M Cake Boutique. Please take a look at our date together in just a few (of many!) photos from the date, also, please be patient while some of the are "moving" images and will need a few moments to load :) ENJOY!!
